“I can relate to adults who believe they aren’t creative, but that’s a cruel lie. Every human being is creative; we’ve simply forgotten it.“

Ann Pape

Ann Pape is a full-time artist and lifelong Omaha resident, a place that has inspired her imagination and creative spirit throughout her life. She studied under Nancy Beal Meyer, a renowned Omaha artist and art educator, and for the past two decades has continued to develop her craft through studies with nationally recognized artists at the Scottsdale Artists’ School in Arizona.

Ann’s work has been selected for exhibition in multiple shows at Omaha’s Gallery 1516, where her paintings are also part of the gallery’s permanent collection. For nine consecutive years, the Museum of Nebraska Art in Kearney selected her work for its annual exhibition. Her paintings have also been featured in numerous exhibitions throughout Nebraska and Minnesota.

Throughout her career, Ann has explored a variety of artistic mediums, including photography, ceramics, fiber arts, sculpture, mixed media, acrylic and watercolor, but remains focused on oil painting and drawing. She enjoys painting en plein air, drawn to the immediate connection it offers with nature, as well as working in her studio, where she can experiment with scale and push the boundaries between impressionism and abstraction.

Ann’s work is available at Modern Arts Midtown gallery in Omaha.
